Trump's Immigration Crackdown: Hundreds of Thousands of Migrants Ordered to Leave U.S.

A staggering figure of about 930,000 migrants who gained entry into the United States through former President Joe Biden’s 'CBP One app policy' are reported to face potential deportation as they have been ordered to exit the country.

In a statement through the spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), there is an official  notice which had been issued to specific individuals categorised to be illegal aliens, although the clarity of the criteria used for selecting the acclaimed aliens is still sketchy.

"Formal termination notices have been issued, and affected aliens are urged to voluntarily self-deport using the CBP Home App,” the DHS official announced.

He further threatened that those who refused to comply with the directive will be fished out, and made to face severe consequences including permanent entry restrictions into the United States after deportation.

Recall that the the CBP One app, which was introduced in January 2023 under the former president Biden's administration was designed to allow migrants schedule appointments at designated southwestern ports of entry.

It contributed to an important part of  humanitarian scheme created for coordinating orderly migration exercise.

According to National Public Radio, the recent orders could impact more than 930,000 migrants who entered the U.S. under this programme.

President Donald Trump, who returned to office earlier this year, has since cancelled further use of the CBP One app on his first day in the White House as a fulfilment of his campaign promises.

President Trump, who raised concerns for inflammatory remarks during the campaign trail by referring to some migrants as "animals" and "monsters," labelling them as responsible for prevalent violent crimes in the state.

The move has restricted access to the platform that allowed migrants in Mexico to legally request appointments to seek temporary stay at U.S. border crossings.

In his concluding address, the DHS spokesperson noted; "Cancelling these paroles is a promise kept to the American people to secure our borders and protect national security".

At present, the fate of hundreds of thousands of people currently benefit from the humanitarian parole is said to be in the bleak
