President Biden highlighted the significant economic progress made under his administration over the past four years. He noted that December’s jobs report showed the economy added over 250,000 jobs, with the unemployment rate dropping below 4.1%.
In total, his presidency has overseen the creation of 16.6
million jobs, the most in any presidential term in history. He emphasized that
the U.S. has created jobs every month during his tenure, marking an
unprecedented record.

Biden attributed this success to a shift from trickle-down
economics to policies that grow the economy from the middle out and bottom up,
benefiting all Americans, particularly the working and middle classes.
He recounted the dire situation when he took office—3,000
daily deaths due to COVID-19, widespread job losses, and economic
disruptions—and described how his administration enacted measures like the
American Rescue Plan and long-term investments in infrastructure, climate
change, and clean energy.
The CHIPS and Science Act was highlighted as a crucial move
to restore semiconductor manufacturing in the U.S. Biden also pointed to
actions that addressed inflation, such as the release of oil from the Strategic
Petroleum Reserve and price reductions in prescription drugs for seniors.

Biden stressed that the economic policies his administration
has pursued are creating opportunities for working families and small
businesses while ensuring that the wealthiest and most profitable corporations
pay their fair share of taxes.
The administration's actions have also bolstered union
support and business formation, with 21 million new business applications filed
during his time in office.
Closing with the jobs report and overall economic performance, Biden asserted that the economy is now stronger than ever, setting a positive foundation for future growth. He expressed optimism about the U.S.'s global economic position and urged the next administration to continue building on these successes.
