Biden Announces Nationwide Offshore Drilling Ban

On Monday, President Joe Biden imposed a ban on offshore drilling across a vast expanse of coastal waters, just weeks before Donald Trump assumes office, promising to significantly boost fossil fuel production.

The ban covers the entire Atlantic coast, the eastern Gulf of Mexico, the Pacific coast off California, Oregon, and Washington, as well as a portion of the Bering Sea off Alaska, as outlined in a White House statement.
